Baily's Beads
Baily's beads are the bright points of sunlight that shine through the valleys along the Moon's limb in the seconds before the annular ring closes and after it breaks apart. The simulations below show them at second contact (C2), the start of annularity, and third contact (C3), the end. These simulations are computed for the point of maximum eclipse.
